John Baumann was named Ivy League Player of the Week for the second time this season and fourth time in his career, Ivy League officials announced. He was also named the PrestoSports/Met Basketball Writers Association Player of the Week for the first time in his career.
Baumann continued on his tear through Ivy League play, averaging 22.5 points and 10.5 rebounds in two road wins vs. Dartmouth and Harvard, marking the first time since 1997-98 that Columbia has won four-straight Ivy League contests.
Baumann had 25 points and nine rebounds at Dartmouth, including a perfect 13-of-13 from the free throw line. In the come-from-behind win versus Harvard, he scored 18 second-half points and added nine second-half rebounds to lead the Lions, finishing with 20 points and 12 boards. He added an assist and three steals against the Crimson in 30 minutes of action. For the weekend, Baumann shot 54 percent from the field (14-of-26) and 100 percent from the charity stripe (16-of-16) in his seventh and eighth 20+ point performances and fourth double-double of the season.
