It came down to one possession and the ball bounced Penn's way as Tyler Bernardini grabbed his own miss and hit a jumper as time expired to lift the Quakers to a 69-67 win over Columbia at the Palestra.
And if there is one thing to say about
In the first half, the score was tied six times and the lead changed seven times as Penn had a one-point advantage at the break, 33-32.
Nwachuwku was nearly unstoppable, with 15 first-half points on five-of-seven shooting.
The Lions ruled the second half, building a seven-point lead with nine minutes remaining, but
In a possession that was a perfect mimic of Baumann's career as a Lion, he came up with a steal and went in for a heavily contested layup. Baumann grabbed three offensive rebounds in the play before laying it in to extend the Lions' lead to six.
It wasn't until the final five minutes that Penn made their move. They only made four field goals in the final five minutes but the Quakers went seven-of-10 from the free throw line.
Andreas Schreiber hit four consecutive free throws and a jumper to give Penn a 64-62 lead with 2:07 remaining.
Columbia rebounded and tied the score at 67-all on a jumper by Niko Scott with 15 seconds remaining, setting up Bernardini's winner.
