In their first of three duals, the Lions jumped out to a 7-0 lead on back-to-back wins by sophomores Kyle Gilchrist and Andrew Grabfelder. Gilchrist defeated Jason Guffey, 6-1, at 125 pounds follow by a 17-4 major decision for Grabfelder against Dan Gaylord at 133 pounds. However, Bloomsburg used three straight wins at 174, 184, and 197 to push its lead to 20-10 before heavyweight Kevin Lester earned a 5-2 victory to close out the match, as the Lions fell by a final score of 20-13.
