NEW YORK - Columbia rookie forward Alex Rosenberg was named the Ivy League Co-Rookie of the Week after helping the Lions to a 59-41 road win at Manhattan on Saturday. Rosenberg shares the honor with Cornell's Shonn Miller.
In his first collegiate start at Manhattan, Rosenberg made four of eight shots from the field and two of three from beyond the arc for a season-high 11 points. Rosenberg also contributed five rebounds, three steals and two assists in 32 minutes.
Against Stony Brook last Tuesday, Rosenberg was equally efficient. He made three of seven from the field and two of three from three-point range. He scored eight points and grabbed four rebounds in 20 minutes of action.
Rosenberg is Columbia's first Rookie of the Week winner this season. It marks the sixth straight season that at least one Lion first-year has gained an Ivy League Rookie of the Week award.
Columbia will take on Swarthmore on Monday night at Levien Gymnasium at 7 p.m. Tickets are available online or by calling 888-LIONS-11. Students are admitted free with Columbia or Barnard ID.
