Men's Basketball Sets Levien Gym Scoring Record in 112-63 Win Over Central Penn

NEW YORK – The Columbia men's basketball team set a Levien Gym record for points in its 112-63 victory over Central Penn Saturday night. Five players scored in double-figures for the Lions, who finish the non-conference portion of the schedule 8-6.
Maodo Lo led the way with 20 points on 7-of-8 shooting in 16 minutes. Kendall Jackson and Noah Springwater set career-highs with 15 and 14 points, respectively. Kyle Castlin added 16 points, while Steve Frankoski netted 13.
Columbia blew the game open with a 19-4 run, on the strength of a trio of treys by Lo, to take a 36-14 lead with 7:24 left in the first half. The Lions closed the half on another tear, outscoring the Knights (8-7) 17-4 in the final 4:40 to take a 57-25 lead into the locker room.
Lo set the tone with a traditional 3-point play to start the second half and Columbia kept its foot on the gas the rest of the way en route to the 49-point triumph.
The Lions forced 24 turnovers, including 18 in the first half, which led to 40 points. Columbia's bench continued to light it up, outscoring Central Penn's reserves, 68-20.
Columbia opens up Ivy League play on Saturday, January 17, at Cornell. Tip-off is slated for 4:30 p.m. and can be seen live on the Ivy League Digital Network.
