New Haven, Conn. – On Friday, Jan. 16, the No. 9 Columbia women's squash team grabbed its first victory over a top-10 opponent this season at the Yale University courts. After trailing 3-1, the Lions completed the comeback to defeat No. 8 Stanford, 5-4.
The Lions saw three players sweep their opponents, including Colette Sultana at the #1 position, Reyna Pacheco at #3 and Leah Barnet at #7. Addie Fulton played a sensational match at the #6 position to grab a 3-2 victory (11-9, 9-11, 12-10, 2-11, 11-7). Kate Calihan held on at the #8 position for another 3-2 win (12-10, 12-10, 9-11, 8-11, 11-3).
Up next, the Lions (5-3) will return to Yale University on Saturday, Jan. 17 to cap the weekend against No. 16 Middlebury at 10 a.m.
