NEW YORK – The No. 57 Columbia women's tennis team welcomes Boston University to the Dick Savitt Tennis Center Friday, Feb. 27 for a 12 p.m. showdown. The Lions match against the Terriers is the first of two Columbia matches on Friday as the 13th-ranked men's team hosts SUNY Binghamton at 4 p.m.

ABOUT NO. 57 COLUMBIA (4-4)
The Lions split its visit to University Park, Pennsylvania, as Columbia defeated Penn State, 4-3, and fell to VCU by an identical score to hold 4-4 record. Half of Columbia's wins have come in the friendly confines of the Dick Savitt Tennis Center.
Kanika Vaidya boasts a 5-1 singles ledger with four wins coming in the second slot and a 1-0 mark at No. 3. Senior Crystal Leung is an unbeaten 5-0 on the fourth court, as sophomore Tina Jiang has split, 5-5, as the Lions ace.
Columbia's doubles teams that have the racquet of Vaidya on them have proved to be successful. The junior has paired up with a trio of first-years. On court 3 with Adi Milstein, the duo is 5-0. Vaidya has teamed up with Alexandra Solovyev and Rima Asatrian on the second court for 3-4 and 1-1 marks, respectively.

In the first ITA Division I National rankings of the spring season, Columbia was slotted 40th. Currently, the Lions land 57th in the national poll.

LAST TIME OUT
The then-No. 43 Columbia women's tennis team slipped to the Rams of VCU, 4-3, Saturday afternoon at Penn State's Indoor Center.
The Lions used new combinations on the doubles court, but it was not enough as the Rams took wins on the first and second courts, respectively.
In singles, the Lions notched wins on courts four through six, but it would not enough as VCU won on the top half to seal the 4-3 victory.

ABOUT BOSTON UNIVERSITY (4-3, 1-0 Patriot League )
The Terriers closed their home slate with two wins as Boston swept Holy Cross and Binghamton to move to 4-3 on the year.
Johanna Hyoty has compiled a 6-1 record as the Terriers' ace en route to the junior's career-first ITA ranking at No. 122. Iris Lin holds a 3-1 mark in singles with a 3-0 record on the sixth cord while Lauren Davis and Iryna Kostirko boasts 4-3 ledgers each. Davis has played every dual in the second slot while Kostirko has split time on the third and fourth courts.
Hyoty team's up with Barbara Rodriguez for one of two unbeaten BU doubles teams at 2-0 in the first position. Sami Lieb and Kim McCallum are the other pair undefeated with a 1-0 mark at No. 3.
THE SERIES
The Lions-Terriers rivarly renews since the teams last met in 2009. Boston University swept Columbia, 7-0, in the programs last meeting to improve to 5-2 in the all-time series that dates back to 2001.
