QUICK HITS
COLUMBIA'S STATUS
The Lions fell twice at home, losing to Dartmouth on Friday night before a 10-point defeat to Harvard on Senior Night. Maodo Lo reached the 30-point plateau for the second straight weekend, notching 33 against the Crimson.
PENN'S STATUS
The Quakers have dropped seven-straight, but have been competitive in their last three outings. Last weekend, Penn fell at Brown by just six points and took Yale down to the wire before falling, 55-50 on Saturday.
PRINCETON'S STATUS
The Tigers split last weekend's games, topping Brown, 80-72, before an 81-60 loss at Yale. Princeton has split all five of its back-to-back's in Ivy League play.
SERIES HISTORY VS. PENN
Friday will be the 227th time Columbia and Penn get together. The Quakers lead the all-time series 138-88 going back to 1901-02. A win on Friday would mark the first season sweep of Penn since 2010 and just the second since 1968.
SERIES HISTORY VS. PRINCETON
Columbia and Princeton will meet for the 233rd time with the Tigers holding a 147-85 advantage in the series that dates back to 1900-01.
A FAMILIAR FACE
When Cory Osetkowski took the floor against Harvard on Saturday, it marked his 112th career appearance for the Lions, which set a new program record. The old mark was previously held by Mark Cisco, who made 111 appearances.
ROAD WARRIORS
After wins over Brown and Yale on Feb. 20-21, Columbia achieved its first Ivy League road sweep since 2008 when they knocked off Dartmouth and Harvard. It was also the first time the Lions picked up wins in Providence and New Haven since Feb. 25-26 of 2000.
A PERFORMANCE FOR THE AGES
Maodo Lo's 35 points at Brown on Feb. 20 was the most for a Lion since Dragutin Kravic posted 35 against Yale in 2004. Not only is it the highest scoring output in the Ivy League this season, it's the most points from anyone in the Ancient Eight since Sean McGonagill of Brown scored 39 in 2011. Additionally, Lo's 14 made field goals established a Pizzatola Sports Center mark, previously held by Penn's Matt Maloney.
THE LO-DOWN ON MAODO
Junior Maodo Lo became just the 27th member of Columbia's 1,000-point club this season after drilling a 3-pointer at the 7:47 mark of the first half at Dartmouth on Feb. 14. He currently sits with 1,107 points, which is 18th on the all-time scoring list. Lo also has 167 career makes from downtown, putting him fifth among the Lions' career leaders.
KLEPTOMANIAC
Maodo Lo put his name on another record list after registering four steals at Brown to move into the top-10 in program history. Lo now has 103 steals to put him tied for eighth place. This season, he is currently third in the Ancient Eight in the category, averaging 1.6 swipes per contest.
LET IT RAIN
Columbia's 10 treys at Harvard on Feb. 13 marked the eighth time this season the Lions have knocked down 10 or more shots from downtown. Columbia's 8.6 triples per game lead the Ivy League and ranks 20th in the NCAA.
QUAKER DOMINATION
The Lions 27-point victory (83-56) over Penn on Feb. 7 was its largest margin of victory in an Ivy League game since Jan. 30, 2004, when the Lions defeated Dartmouth, 78-42. It was also one point shy of the most decisive win in the series against the Quakers.
AGENT 0
First-year Kyle Castlin's scoring average of 10.2 points per game and 81.3 free throw percentage leads all Ancient Eight neophytes. He has started all 26 games for Columbia and has a trio of Ivy League Rookie of the Week honors under his belt (Dec. 22, Jan. 5, Feb. 2).
FRANKIE SAYS RELAX
Columbia's top threat off the bench has been senior Steve Frankoski. The tri-captain is in fourth place on the all-time 3-point field goal list (168). He sits six behind K.J. Matsui for third place.
GLUE GUY
Every team needs one and that's what the Lions have in junior Isaac Cohen. The 6-4 guard is currently fifth in the Ivy League in assists at 4.0 per game and is pulling down 5.3 rebounds per game, which is the second best among guards in the Ancient Eight. Cohen narrowly missed posting just the third Ivy League triple-double ever with his eight-point, 10-rebound, nine-assist effort against Stony Brook on Jan. 6.
LOCKING IT UP
Columbia held opponents under 50 points for the fifth time after giving up 45 to Cornell on Jan. 17. The Lions did not surrender 50 points in three straight games from Nov. 23-29 for the first time since 2002 when the Lions did it in four consecutive games from Jan. 15-Feb. 1. (At Albany - L, 40-41, Cornell - W, 56-40, at Cornell - W, 54-42, at Princeton - L, 41-49).
COLUMBIA IN IVY LEAGUE OPENERS
The Lions are 28-31 all-time in Ivy League openers and are 4-1 under the direction of Kyle Smith, including a 48-45 win in Ithaca on Jan. 17.
