BANDON, Ore. – Sophomore Camilla Vik of the Columbia women's golf team will be paired with her sister, Susana, this week when the two take part in the U.S. Women's Amateur Four-Ball Championship, at Bandon Dunes Resort in Oregon.
The pair qualified for the event after a 67 on their home course, the Country Club of New Canaan (Connecticut), won the regional qualifier by six strokes back in September. Today, they hope to advance on the links style Pacific Dunes Course, which will play at a par-72, and 6,005 yards.
The Vik's will be the No. 18 seed in the 32-team field, and square off against the No. 15 seed, Abby Portyrata and Lauren Greenlief. The two Virginia natives will bring college experience to the match, as Portyrata is a current member of the women's golf team at UTSA, while Greenlief golfed at the University of Virginia from 2008-12. The four will tee off at 10:48 a.m. local time.
Today will provide competition in the Round of 32, with the Round of 16 teeing off tomorrow along with the quarterfinals, while the semifinal and final round will play out on Wednesday.
