Lightweight Varsity Eight Wins Opening Race at Henley

HENLEY-ON-THAMES, OXFORDSHIRE, U.K. – The Columbia lightweight rowing varsity eight opened up competition at the Henley Royal Regatta with a convincing victory over Imperial College London on Wednesday.
Columbia won by just over a length against the heavyweight crew.
With the win, the Lions will face the University of West London at 11:15 a.m. local time (6:15 a.m. EDT) in the round of 16.
Columbia's varsity four will begin its quest for the Prince Albert Challenge Cup when they open the tournament against Harvard “B” at 6:45 p.m. (1:45 EDT).
