HANOVER, N.H. – The Columbia men's basketball team is off to its best Ivy League start in 22 years after dispatching Dartmouth, 77-60, on the road Friday night. The Lions improved to 14-6 overall and 3-0 in conference play for the first time since 1994.
Maodo Lo had 16 points, six rebounds and five steals to lead the way. Grant Mullins finished with 16 points in 26 minutes of action.
The Lions raced out to quick 10-0 lead, capped by a dunk by Luke Petrasek just over three minutes in and led 32-9 after a 19-2 outburst with 8:30 on the clock. Columbia was held to just one field goal the rest of the frame, but was able to get to the foul line to take a 42-32 lead into the locker room.
The second half was plagued by fouls for both teams as they combined for 28 free throws after the intermission. Another big run, this time a 13-2 spurt, effectively put the game away with Columbia ahead, 71-49, with 7:25 on the clock.
Columbia never trailed in the game and forced 21 turnovers.
Evan Boudreaux led the Big Green (7-10, 1-2) with 15 points and a game-high seven points.
