Lightweight Rowing Felled by Oxford Brookes in Henley Quarterfinals

HENLEY-ON-THAMES, England - The Columbia lightweight varsity eight's run at the Henley Royal Regatta was halted by a strong Oxford Brookes University crew in the quarterfinals of the Temple Challenge Cup.
The Lions' boat was damaged during launch (broken rigger), forcing them to switch vessels prior to the race. Columbia fought hard to keep pace early, but the heavyweight Oxford Brookes crew continued to pick up pace and went on for an open-water victory.
