NEW YORK — No. 7 Columbia women's squash took care of No. 19 Franklin and Marshall, 9-0, this afternoon at SL Green StreetSquash. The Lions improved to 3-0 on the season, and have won both of their matches at home at SL Green StreetSquash.
Coach Jacques Swanepoael has been impressed with the first-years so far this season, who make up five of the top-9 spots.
"We knew the first year class was good but they ended up surprising us a little bit and doing really well in the preseason training and team tournament," Swanepoel said. "It has been nice to be pleasantly surprised by how strong the first-years are."
The Lions will enjoy their Thanksgiving break before they return to action on December 2nd to face Cornell and Virginia in Ithaca.
