NEW YORK—Columbia Athletics invites all alumni, friends and family members to campus this weekend as Columbia University will host its 74
th annual 2018 Homecoming weekend.
"Homecoming weekend is a celebratory event for our great university and athletics program," Campbell Family Director of Intercollegiate Athletics & Physical Education
Peter Pilling said. "It's a great time for all of our students, student-athletes, alumni, family members and fans to come out, show their Columbia support and enjoy all of the planned events this weekend."
Highlighted by the annual Homecoming Football game, scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on Saturday at Robert K. Kraft Field at Lawrence A. Wien Stadium (corner of 218
th & Broadway) against Dartmouth, Columbia will host a total of five regular season athletic games and three preseason events this weekend at both Dodge Physical Fitness Center and Baker Athletics Complex. The Columbia field hockey teams hosts both Dartmouth (Friday, 2 p.m.) and Villanova (Sunday, 1 p.m.), Columbia's men's soccer team plays Dartmouth in a key Ivy League game on Friday evening (5 p.m.) which will be televised nationally on ESPNU, and Columbia's women's soccer team hosts Dartmouth (Saturday, 6 p.m.). In addition, Columbia's men's swimming & diving team (Blue & White Meet, 2:30 p.m. on Friday), Columbia women's swimming diving team (vs. LIU Brooklyn scrimmage, 5:30 p.m. on Friday) and the men's and women's fencing teams (Alumni Meet, 10 a.m. on Sunday) will all host preseason events at various venues.
Columbia Football enters its Homecoming Game with a 3-2 overall record and 0-2 Ivy League record. Dartmouth is currently one of four undefeated teams in the FCS with a 5-0 overall record and 2-0 Ivy League record The Big Green is in first place in the Ivy League standings. Columbia has won each of its last two Homecoming Games including a 34-31 overtime win over Penn last year and a 9-7 victory over Dartmouth in 2016.
In addition to the athletics events, Columbia University has planned a variety of alumni and fan-friendly events. On Friday, a Homecoming Kickoff Reception will take place at Dodge Fitness Center University Blue Gym from 6-8 p.m. Bring family and friends to this reception, where you can mingle with fellow alumni and students, collect some Columbia swag and get excited for the game. On Saturday, the Columbia College Alumni Association will sponsor its annual Lunch Under the Big Tent and Homecoming Carnival prior to the football game beginning at 11 a.m. For both events,
