Jeff Coby '17CC Inks Deal With New York Knicks

Coby signed a free agent deal with the team Sunday afternoon.

NEW YORK – Jeff Coby '17CC has signed a free agent deal with the New York Knicks, the team announced Sunday, October 7. Coby spent the 2017-18 campaign with two teams in Spain, CB Prat Juventud and Cambados Xuven of Liga LEB Oro.

In 22 games with both clubs, the 6-8 forward averaged 7.6 points and 6.2 rebounds in 18.7 minutes per contest. This past summer, Coby suited up with the Haitian national team at the 2018 FIBA Americup Pre-Qualifiers where he averaged 14.8 points and 10.5 rebounds in four contests.

During his Columbia career, Coby started 18 games as a senior and posted 6.2 points and 4.6 rebounds.

"We're incredibly happy for Jeff on getting this opportunity with the Knicks," Engles told the Columbia Spectator. "He had a nice season in Spain and played well for the Haitian national team during the summer, so it's great to see him being rewarded for all the work he has put in. We wish him the best of luck during training camp."

Additionally, Coby's classmate Luke Petrasek '17CC will return to the Greensboro Swarm, the NBA G League affiliate of the Charlotte Hornets. Petrasek suited up in 50 games with the Swarm, averaging 6.4 points and 4.6 rebounds in 22 minutes per contest.
