PRINCETON, N.J. — Columbia first-year Emily Teehan was voted Second Team All-Ivy League by the Ancient Eight's coaches. The league office announced its postseason volleyball honors and awards Thursday afternoon.
Teehan, an outside hitter, totaled 265 kills, 3.35 kills per set, 303 total points, 3.84 points per set, 29 service aces and 0.37 aces per set. All of those marks led Columbia and were No. 1 among Ivy League rookies. Overall, the Toronto native ranked No. 3 in the league in kills, kills per set, points and points per set. She also led the league in aces and aces per set.
Teehan was tremendous against Ivy League competition. Again, she led all first-years in the aforementioned categories while also topping all Ivy League players in kills per set (3.67), aces per set (0.35) and points per set (4.12). She posted a team-high nine double-doubles, reaching double figures in kills 16 times and in digs on 10 occasions.
Some of the many highlights of Teehan's rookie season included back-to-back Ivy League Rookie of the Week selections (Oct. 1, Oct. 8). The latter of the two came after posting a season-high 20 kills while hitting .341 in a victory over Brown. Teehan also led the Lions to wins over Harvard and Dartmouth the week prior, including a 17-kill (.324), 10-dig, three-ace performance against the Big Green.
The All-Ivy League selection is Columbia volleyball's 34th in program history.
