Reed enters 157-pound weight class as No. 27 seed; opens competition on Thursday vs. No. 6 seed Kaleb Young of Iowa.
PITTSBURGH, Pa.—Columbia Wrestling will travel two wrestlers–senior Dan Reed and junior Laurence Kosoy–to the 2019 NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships held at PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh, Pa. this weekend. Reed will compete in the 157-pound weight class, while Kosoy is an alternate in the 165-pound weight class.
Session 1 begins at noon on Thursday. Session II is at 7 p.m. On Friday, Session III begins at 11 a.m. and Session IV is at 8 p.m. On Saturday, Session V is at 11 a.m. and Championship Session VI is at 7 p.m.

ESPN's coverage of the NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships returns this month, with the annual event's three prime-time sessions airing on ESPN, its early sessions on ESPNU and every one of the 640 matches available on ESPN3 via the ESPN App.
The nearly 20 hours of competition from PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh begins Thursday, March 21, continues Friday, March 22, and concludes with the sport's final day on Saturday, March 23.
Icons Tim Johnson, Anthony Robles, Jim Gibbons, and Lee Kemp Return; Mike Couzens, Shawn Kenney and Quint Kessenich will anchor the telecast, while Billy Baldwin is back as Guest Analyst.

DAN REED ENTERS NCAA COMPETITION AS NO. 27 SEED
Senior Dan Reed (26-9) will enter NCAA competition in the 157-pound weight class as the No. 27 seed. He will face No. 6 seed Kaleb Young of Iowa (20-5) in Match 86 of the first round. The winner or loser will wrestle against the winner or loser of Match 85 pitting No. 11 seed Ke-Shawn Hayes (Ohio State) vs. No. 22 seed Zac Carson (Ohio). Session I begins at noon on Thursday.
REED'S PATHWAY TO NCAA CHAMPIONSHIPS
Columbia's Dan Reed finished in sixth place at the 2019 EIWA Championships' 157-pound weight class to earn one of six automatic bids into the NCAA Championships. After dropping his first round matchup, Reed rattled off three consecutive victories, before dropping a close 2-0 decision to Army's Lucas Weiland. In the 5-6 match, he was forced to forfeit due to medical issues.
All season he has been ranked among the EIWA's top-four-to-six wrestlers. He finished 12-3 in dual matches, 2-3 in Ivy duals and 7-3 in EIWA duals while registering four major decisions and four falls with the fastest coming in 2:07.
REED'S CAREER AT COLUMBIA
Dan Reed owns a 48-40 all-time record at Columbia. A psychology major from Stirling, N.J., Reed won the 157-pound title at the 2018 Black Knight Invite, knocking off FloWrestling's 12th ranked wrestler Luke Weiland (Army) and defeating NCAA qualifier Alex Klucker in the finals. He has been ranked as high as No. 14 nationally by both FloWrestling and Intermat. He placed sixth in the 2019 EIWA Championships and finished eight in the 2018 EIWA Championships as a junior.
