NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Columbia men's basketball team completed a weekend sweep after topping Yale, 83-75, Saturday night. The Lions (9-17, 4-8) scored the first 12 points of the contest and never trailed in the game to win back-to-back Ivy League road wins for the first time since 2016.
The victory also snapped a seven-game losing streak against the Bulldogs with the last victory also coming at John J. Lee Amphitheater in 2015.
Quinton Adlesh poured in 19 points, dished out six assists and added three steals in 39 minutes of action. Patrick Tapé added 16 points, six rebounds and two blocks.
After the 12-0 run to start the game,

Randy Brumant, who chipped in 12 points, stepped into a 3-pointer from the left wing to stop the bleeding on Columbia's next possession to keep Yale at bay. The Lions knocked down their next three attempts from beyond the arc to build the lead back up to 15 with 1:35 left and led 44-31 after 20 minutes.
The Lions lead grew to 56-38 after a 15-footer from
Maka Ellis with 14:14 to go. Columbia maintained a comfortable lead thanks to key contributions from Bibbs and first-year
Ike Nweke before the Bulldogs made a final comeback bid.
A 9-2 rally cut the deficit to 68-57 and two free throws by Paul Atkinson brought Yale within eight with 4:04 to play. Columbia came up empty on two tries on the ensuing possession and Swain pulled up from the right wing to make it 70-65 with 2:53 to go.
Adlesh buried a huge 3-pointer with the shot clock expiring with 50 seconds left and the Lions forced a miss on the defensive end. Yale extended the game by hitting two more treys and getting to the foul line to make it 79-75 with 14 seconds left, but Columbia went 4-for-4 from the line in the closing moments to hold off the Bulldogs.
Blake Reynolds led five Yale players in double-figures with 19 points. Jordan Bruner registered a double-double with 10 points and 15 rebounds. The Lions limited Miye Oni to 12 points on 4-of-14 shooting.
