Maodo Lo '16CC Headed to FIBA World Cup

Lo will suit up for the German National Team, who is vying for a spot at the 2020 Olympics.
NEW YORK – Maodo Lo '16CC is set to compete with the German National Team at the 2019 FIBA World Cup, which kicks off this weekend in China. Germany opens up the group state Sunday, September 1 against France, followed by games against the Dominican Republic (Sept. 3) and Jordan (Sept. 5).
The tournament features 32 teams vying to compete in the 2020 Summer Olympics, which will take the top two teams from each of the Americas and Europe, and the top team from each of Africa, Asia and Oceania, alongside the tournament's host China.
ESPN+ will broadcast the entire group stage of the FIBA World Cup. Lo first appeared with the senior national team in 2015, playing in the European Championships prior to his final season with the Lions. During his professional career, he has won two German League championships with Brose Bamberg (2017) and FC Bayern Munich (2019).
While at Columbia, the 6-3 sharpshooter was a three-time All-Ivy League performer and finished his career as the Lions' all-time leader in 3-pointers (277) and third on the scoring list (1,756 points). He also holds the single-season records for steals (75) and 3-point field goals made (96), both set in the 2015-16 campaign that saw Columbia win the CIT Championship.
Lo will play alongside current NBA players Dennis Schroeder (Oklahoma City Thunder), Daniel Theis (Boston Celtics), Max Kleber (Dallas Mavericks) and Isaac Bonga (Washington Wizards).
