MALIBU, Calif. — Columbia junior and No. 4-seed
Jack Lin saw his run at the 2019 Oracle ITA Masters end on Saturday afternoon, falling in the semifinal round to No. 2-seed Daniel Cukierman of USC.
Â
After No. 8 Cukierman broke serve to take a 3-1 lead in the first set, ninth-ranked Lin fell 6-3 in the first set, before dropping the second set 6-2 to seal the match. Cukierman will move on to face top-seeded Keegan Smith from UCLA in Sunday's final.
Â
The loss snapped a seven-match singles win streak for Lin to start the fall season. Lin will be back in action next month, traveling to Tulsa, Oklahoma, for the 2019 ITA All-American Championships. Lin qualified for the singles main draw.
Â
Many Columbia players are still in action this weekend at the UVA Blue & Orange Classic. Action will wrap up Sunday, with results available via Twitter.
