
Squash Readies For Third Appearance at Virginia

The Columbia Squash teams prepare to compete against the Virginia Cavaliers
NEW YORK - The Columbia men's and women's squash teams head to Charlottesville, Virginia, this Sunday, Jan. 26, to compete against the Virginia Cavaliers. The match will begin at noon ET at the McArthur Squash Center.
The Lions are coming off a jam-packed weekend of tough competition, having faced the sixth-ranked Stanford women and top-ranked Harvard men and women this past weekend. Sunday's result brings the Lions men to 5-5 on the year with a 2-2 record against Ivy League competition. Harvard moves to 5-0. The Lions women were edged out by the Cardinal, 5-4, before being handed their second defeat by the Crimson, 8-1.
Previewing UVA- Women
Virginia (8-3), ranked No. 10 nationally, recorded its fourth-consecutive win and third-straight victory over a ranked opponent on Sunday, Jan. 19, with a 9-0 decision against No. 20 Dickinson at the Kline Squash Center.
The series between the Cavaliers and the Lions continues for the third-straight season with the Columbia owning a 2-0 advantage. Last season, Columbia came out on top, 6-3, in New York.
Previewing UVA- Men
Eighth-ranked Virginia (10-3) captured an 8-1 win against Dickinson on Sunday (Jan. 19) at the Kline Squash Center. The last two matchups between Columbia and Virginia resulted in Lions victories. The last meeting between the Lions and Cavaliers saw Columbia earn a 9-0 sweep on Dec. 1, 2018.
