
Columbia Concludes Non-Conference Play Thursday Against Mount Saint Vincent

The Lions have one final tune-up against the Division III Dolphins before Ivy League play begins next weekend.
OPENING TIP-OFF
• Columbia closes non-conference play against Mount Saint Vincent. The Lions will then have nine days to prepare for their Ivy League opener against Cornell on January 18.
• The Lions opened up 2020 with another narrow defeat. Up by five with 50 seconds remaining, Maine stormed back to force overtime and topped Columbia 75-72 on a last-second shot from Andrew Fleming.
• Sophomore Ike Nweke is averaging 15.5 points and 9.0 rebounds over the past two contests.
• Mike Smith netted 20 points Monday for his 11th 20-plus point performance of the season. The senior leads the Ivy League and is No. 10 in the country, averaging 21.9 points per game.

MOUNT SAINT VINCENT'S STATUS
The Dolphins most recently dropped an 89-66 decision to Wesleyan on Jan. 4. Raiquis Harris leads the squad, averaging 17.6 points and 4.7 rebounds. Kalos Evans checks in at 13.8 points and 6.6 boards per contest.

Thursday will mark the first meeting between the schools.
IF I COULD BE LIKE MIKE
Senior Mike Smith is doing it all for Columbia this season. In addition to his scoring prowess, he is second in the Ancient Eight in free throw percentage (.806) and is third in assists, dishing out 4.6 per game. Additionally, Smith is logging 37:10 of action per game (No. 11 in NCAA) and is No. 14 in the NCAA in total points with 328.
