NEW YORK – Columbia Volleyball head coach
Allison Keeley has announced, following time spent on the recruiting trail, the Class of 2024, with a collection of seven new Lions, which include two native New Yorkers; two from California; one from Texas; one from Florida and one coming from Croatia, coming to campus in the fall as the Lions set their sights on the 2020 season.
Â
The entire Class of 2024 intends on enrolling in Columbia College, as Keeley has brought in a wide range of positions to strengthen the Columbia lineup. The incoming class brings with it two liberos; two outside hitters; two middle blockers and one setter and all seven new Lions will look to make an impact on the upcoming season.
"The Columbia Volleyball family is excited to welcome this new class of Lions," said Keeley. "As a group, they bring a high level of talent, diversity, and character and they add depth at every position, raising the competitive level of our gym. They are exceptional teammates who exemplify our core values and culture and together with the current first year class, we feel that we have a powerful foundation for the future of Columbia Volleyball."
Â
Lauren Cho, 5'5", DS/L, Columbia College (University High School, Irvine, California): A letterwinner in volleyball at University High School in Irvine, California, Cho spent her freshman and sophomore years as a setter before transitioning to libero during her junior and senior seasons. She earned First Team All-Pacific Coast League honors during both her junior and senior years and following her senior season she was named the team MVP.Â
Â
University High School had some solid postseason finishes, which Cho was a part of, as they finished third in 2018 and second in 2019 in the Girls Volleyball Pacific Coast League and during those seasons, she helped her school reach the CIF playoffs. Cho has Columbia in her family as her first cousin, John Cho, graduated from Columbia in 1971 and she "fell in love with the culture and diversity at Columbia and in New York City" which helped her decide on attending Columbia.
Aidan Conner, 6'3", MB, Columbia College (Bridgeland High School, Cypress, Texas): Won two letters in volleyball and one letter in basketball at Bridgeland High School in Cypress, Texas, where she smashed 180 blocks during her senior season, which is a school record, and ranked her first in the district and 16th in the state. During that senior season she hit .316 and helped her high school go undefeated and win a district championship. Conner has received a large number of accolades during her high school career, earning 2019 First Team All-District honors; TAVC All-Texas honors and being named to the All-Vype Second Team and Second Team Houston Chronicle All-Greater Houston at one point during her career.
Â
Her club time was spent with the Texas Tornados Volleyball Club where she helped the club finished fifth at the AAU National Tournament and she earned an AAU All-American nomination. From 2013-17 Conner lived in Aberdeen, Scotland, where she performed a play for Queen Elizabeth II while attending the International School of Aberdeen. Columbia gained her attention because "it's academically challenging, but at the same time it is welcoming" and she went with the Lions over Ivy League program Brown when making her choice, along with American and Lafayette.
Annabel Happ, 5'10", S, Columbia College (Shorecrest Prep School, St. Petersburg, Florida): Four-time letterwinner in volleyball at Shorecrest Preparatory School in St. Petersburg, Florida, Happ is a Lion at heart, having grown up in Harlem, New York and she spent time at Columbia Volleyball camps, even winning "Most Spirited Player" at the 2014 camp. On the club scene, Happ has been busy, having competed for the NYC Juniors National Team; St. Pete Volleyball Club 17 Teal; OTVA 18-Dexter; GEVA Regional Team (2016-17) and the USAV A2 Program (2018). A member of the 2018 Florida 4A State Championship team, she earned the 2016-17 ISAL MVP Award; qualified for the Junior Olympics (National Division) as a member of the NYC Juniors National Team; was a 2019 AAU Junior National Volleyball Championships 17 Premier All-Star and a 2019 Pinellas County All-Star.

Klinikum Karlsruhe during her time living in Germany. Happ gained attention from fellow Ivy League program Penn, along with Williams; Wesleyan; Stony Brook; Nova Southeastern; LIU and Eckerd.
Logan Harlock, 6'0", OH, Columbia College (Fieldston High School, Bronx, New York): Spent four years playing volleyball and competing in track & field at Fieldston High School in the Bronx, New York, where she was a two-time team captain (junior and senior year) and a member of the two-time league runners-up (2017-18). She was named the 2016 Capitol Hill Classic Tournament's "Best Middle Blocker" award and spent time on the 2019 Geva High Performance Youth Team and from 2014-17 she attended the USA A1 High Perform Program.
Â
Harlock comes from a large family, with five siblings, and her brother Maddox is a current member of the Colorado Men's Basketball team. Throughout her life, Harlock has bounced around a bit, living in four different American cities (Atlanta; Santa Monica; Miami and New York City), but she has "always been amazed by the tremendous opportunity that New York City has to offer" and that led to her picking Columbia over fellow Ivy League programs Dartmouth; Brown and Cornell, along with Georgetown; Colgate; Chicago; UCSD; St. John's; NYU and Boston College.
Lauren Maitland, 5'10", OH, Columbia College (Columbia Grammar and Prep School, New York, N.Y.): Four-year letterwinner in volleyball at Columbia Grammar and Preparatory School in New York, New York, where she helped her high school advance to the NYCAL semifinals in three straight seasons from 2017-19. When not competing for her high school, Maitland spent time with the All-Star Empire Volleyball Club 15 Premier (2016-17); the NYC Juniors 16 National Volleyball Club (2017-18); the All-Star Empire Volleyball Club 17 Premier (2018-19) and the All-Star Empire Volleyball Club 18 Premier (2019-20) and she was named high school Most Valuable Player in 2016.
Â
With Columbia in her blood, Maitland joins her father and grandmother with going to Columbia, as her father, Tracy graduated from Columbia College in 1982 and her grandmother, Carolyn, graduated from the Teacher's College in 1978. Along with her Columbia background, Maitland's family is also extremely athletic as her mother, Kimberley, was a four-time All-American in track & Field at Virginia. Despite receiving heavy attention from fellow Ivy League program Brown, along with Boston College; Chicago; Georgetown; Washington; NYU; Carnegie Mellon; Emory and Tufts, Maitland went with Columbia because "my dad would talk highly about Columbia nonstop and I want to be immersed in the diversity of thoughts and ideas."
Maria Milisa, 6'4", MB, Columbia College (Zagreb, Croatia, XV Gymnasium): Spent four years playing middle blocker at XV Gymnasium in Zagreb, Croatia and was a member of the U16 Regional and National Championship winning squads. She helped her team finish third in 1B League (sophomore) and was a key member of back-to-back U18 Regional and National Championship (junior/senior) squads.
Â
Milisa comes from an athletic background, as her father Mate played basketball for four seasons playing college basketball at Long Beach State and eight additional seasons playing in Europe. Because of her father's career, Milisa spent time living in four different countries (Israel; Netherlands; Germany and Croatia) and during her travels picked up hip hop and modern dance along with playing the piano. Gained recruiting attention from fellow Ivy League program, Dartmouth, along with UIC; Santa Clara and Georgetown, but went with Columbia "because it is a wonderful opportunity for me to get a high education while playing volleyball at a high level."
Yooni Park, 5'7", DS/L, Columbia College (Cupertino High School, Cupertino, California): Four-year letterwinner in volleyball at Cupertino High School in Cupertino, California, she started by playing setter and libero during her freshman and sophomore years, before moving to outside hitter for her final two seasons. Park owns two school records, digs (1,125) and assists (1,263) and she finished her senior year with 202 digs, 230 assists and 245 kills. Her numbers have earned her four First Team All-League honors; High School Freshman Athlete of the Year (2016); Outstanding Freshman of the League (2016); Outstanding Sophomore of the League (2017); League MVP (2018) and her teams are a three-time League Champions-CCS qualifier from 2017-19).
Â
Born in Seoul, South Korea, Park spent her early days in America living in Houston, Texas and she grew up with dreams of becoming an Olympic Athlete. She gained recruiting attention from fellow Ivy League program Dartmouth, along with UC Santa Barbara; UC Irvine and Swarthmore, but went with Columbia because "I have always wanted to come to the East Coast for college, specifically New York City, and when I came for an official visit I absolutely fell in love."
