NEW YORK—Led by preseason Third Team All-America punt returner
Mike Roussos, 10 Columbia football players were named to the 2020 Phil Steele Preseason All-Ivy League Team, the magazine and online organization announced Friday. The magazine released its annual All-Ivy League team despite the conference's announcement on July 8 to cancel all fall sports due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Roussos, who previously earned preseason Second Team All-America honors from HeroSports as a punt returner, garnered three All-Ivy League honors on the preseason team including First Team as its kickoff returner and punt returner, and Second Team as its all-purpose player. Joining Roussos on the All-Ivy League First Team was sophomore placekicker
Alex Felkins.
Earning Second Team honors were senior wide receiver
Josh Wainwright, sophomore linebacker
Scott Valentas, junior linebacker
Cam Dillon, senior defensive back
Ben Mathiasmeier, senior defensive back
Will Allen, and junior long snapper
Parker Lefton.
Third team picks were senior offensive lineman
Joseph Scowden and senior punter
Drew Schmid.
Columbia had at least one honoree listed among all six special teams awards.
