Men's basketball has selected Luke Bolster, Ben Milstein and Ike Nweke as their leadership committee for 2021-22 season.
NEW YORK — The Columbia men's basketball team has announced that graduate student Luke Bolster along with seniors Ben Milstein and Ike Nweke have been named team captains for the 2021-22 season. The trio was selected after a team vote earlier in the fall.
Bolster was named a captain in 2020-21 and will become the first graduate student to play for the program after the Ivy League granted a one-time exception for seniors whose eligibility were affected due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2019-20, Bolster saw action in 24 contests. In his first collegiate start at Maine, he posted a career-best eight points in 27 minutes of action. A native New Yorker, Bolster also dished out a season-high five assists at Duquesne.
Milstein, who missed the 2019-20 season due to injury, is known as one of the hardest workers on the team. His sister, Adi, was a four-year member of the women's tennis team and brother, Oren, was a placekicker for the Lions from 2016-19.
Nweke has made 55 appearances with 30 career starts in two seasons at Columbia. In 2019-20, he averaged 9.6 points on 52.7 percent shooting, and 5.3 rebounds per game. As a first-year, he was named Ivy League Rookie of the Week after posting 17 points and seven boards in his collegiate debut at Marist.
