Eight total SNY games, women to be featured nationally on ESPNU (Jan. 7)
NEW YORK - Columbia men's and women's basketball will be featured a total of seven times this season on SportsNet NY (SNY), Columbia University Athletics and the regional sports network announced today. Each contest will also be simulcast live on ESPN+ and all 27 games of the 2021-22 season for each program will be seen on a streaming service.
Additionally, the Columbia women's basketball team will host a nationally televised game on ESPNU, when the Lions go up against defending Ivy League champion Princeton on Friday, January 7. That game will tip at 7 p.m. ET.
Columbia men's basketball games against Brown on Saturday, January 22, Princeton on Saturday, February 5, Yale on Saturday, February 12 and Cornell on Saturday, March 5 will be carried by SNY live and will be available on tape delay in the days following each contest. Women's basketball will be featured live on SNY against Yale on Sunday, January 2, against Penn on Saturday, January 8, and against Cornell on Monday, Martin Luther King Day, January 17.
With a total distribution of nearly 11 million homes, SNY is available to viewers throughout New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, and Northeastern Pennsylvania for a regional reach of 8.0 million households. Combined with national coverage on DIRECTV, Verizon FiOS, and AT&T U-Verse, SNY's total distribution is 11 million homes. SNY is the official television home of the New York Mets, New York Jets, and all things New York sports. As New York's leader in local sports TV coverage, SNY delivers the most comprehensive access to all of the Tri-State area's professional and collegiate sports teams through several nightly sports and entertainment programs.
The remainder of the Lions' home and Ivy League slate can be seen live on ESPN+, the official home for the Ivy League. Men's non-conference road games against Fordham (Nov. 9), Lehigh (Nov. 23) and Colgate (Dec. 6) will also be aired on the platform.
All of the women's non-conference games will also air on one of the ESPN streaming platforms, aside from Sunday, November 22, at Georgetown (FloSports/Big East Digital Network). For the men, fans can watch Columbia take on Boston College on ACCNx the day after Thanksgiving on November 26. The Lions' matchups against UMBC (Dec. 1) and UAlbany (Dec. 11) will be shown live on AmericaEast.TV (no subscription required).
ESPN+ is available through the ESPN app and ESPN.com for $6.99 per month, or save over 15% with an ESPN+ Annual Plan at $69.99 per year. You can also bundle ESPN+ with Disney+ and Hulu for $13.99 per month. The subscription includes over 175 Ivy League men's and women's basketball games as well as thousands of other live events from other collegiate conferences and professional sports leagues.
Every Ivy League basketball game in an Ivy League home venue will be available on an ESPN network, including 10 games on national linear networks. Fans with a subscription to ESPN+ will gain access to more than 200 games.
The Ivy League basketball tournaments will be held March 11-13 at Harvard's Laviettes Pavilion. Ticket information will be released in the coming weeks.
