The Lions are coming off home victories over No. 12 Western Ontario and No. 7 Virginia to start the 2021-22 campaign. The Lions swept Western Ontario in the season opener last Saturday, 9-0, winning six of the nine scoring matches in straight sets. Virginia provided for tougher competition on Sunday, but the Lions toughed out a 6-3 victory. James Wyatt was victorious at the No. 3, while the Lions swept all matches from Nos. 5-9.
Wyatt, Harold Castiaux, Adam Goad, Jacob Bulbulia, Ryan Chen and Zach Nam all went 2-0 through last weekend's matches. Justin Ghaeli was also victorious in the No. 10 position on both days.
Franklin & Marshall started the year with a narrow, 5-4, win over No. 26 Dickinson last Friday, but has dropped its three matches since. Two of those losses came again top five teams, No. 5 Drexel and No. 1 Penn, but the Diplomats dropped disappointing, 7-2, result to No. 23 Chatham inbetween. They fell one spot from 15 to 16 following their 1-3 week.
