No. 6 Lions Head to No. 16 Williams Saturday

Lions close out calendar year on the road
NEW YORK — The sixth-ranked Columbia men's squash team (4-1) heads to Massachusetts to take on No. 16 Williams College (1-3) on Saturday. The match is scheduled to start at 3 p.m. ET.

THE LATEST
Columbia is coming off its first loss of the season, 5-4, on Sunday in the team's Ivy League opener against Cornell. The Lions went down 4-2 and tried to claw their way back in it, but Cornell got the clincher it needed from the top court to put away the match. James Wyatt (2), Adam Goad (5), Rutvik Rau (6) and Justin Ghaeli (8) earned Columbia's four points.
Two days prior, the Lions managed to come back from 4-2 down against Drexel to squeak out a 5-4 victory. The Lions got victories from Rau, Goad and Callan Hall in the top match to complete the comeback.
STICKING AT SIX
Columbia has been ranked No. 6 in the CSA Team National Rankings all season. The team's four wins to this point have come against teams ranked No. 12, 7, 16 and 5. Cornell was ranked ninth on Sunday when they handed Columbia its first loss.
LAST TIME AGAINST WILLIAMS
Columbia and Williams last met in December of 2019 in a match which the Lions won, 8-1. Columbia earned victories at the top two positions and swept the 4-9 matches. Current Lions Callan Hall, James Wyatt, Chaitanya Shah, Aditya Kankariya, Justin Chaeli and Hugh Camiener all won their respective matches as part of the victory.
