NEW YORK—Three fencers—Jackie Dubrovich '16CC, Jake Hoyle '16CC, and Nicole Ross '13CC— will represent the Columbia Fencing program and will compete for Team USA at the upcoming 2021 Tokyo Olympics. All three will be in Tokyo on July 23 for the opening ceremony.

Ross will make her second career Olympic appearance as she competed for Team USA in 2012 in London. She becomes the 12th fencer in Columbia history to participate in two or more Olympic Games, joining Norman Armitage, Hugh Alessandroni, Alfred Skrobisch, Tom Losonczy, Steve Trevor, Katy Bilodeau, Robert Cottingham, Ann Marsh, Erinn Smart, James Williams, and Nzingha Prescod as multi-Olympians.

All three fencers will attempt to become the first Columbia fencer to win an Olympic medal since Smart (team foil) and Williams (team sabre) earned Silver Medals in 2008.

Columbia Head Coach Michael Aufrichtig coached both Dubrovich and Hoyle at Columbia.

"We are so proud of all three fencers," Aufrichtig said. "Their passion and perseverance in college and after graduation saw them reach their dreams. The entire Columbia Fencing family is excited to follow them on their Olympic journey in Tokyo."

Dubrovich and Ross will both compete on the same Team USA women's foil roster. Columbia could also have two fencing coaches involved with Team USA: current sabre coach Akhi Spencer-El and former co-Head Coach Aladar Kogler.
