Mike Smith '20CC Headed to NBA Summer League With Milwaukee Bucks

Smith joins the defending NBA Champions in Las Vegas and opens up play August 9.
LAS VEGAS — Former Columbia men's basketball standout Mike Smith '20CC has signed a deal with the defending NBA champion Milwaukee Bucks in the Las Vegas Summer League. The Bucks open up against the Los Angeles Clippers on Monday, August 9 at 9 p.m. ET. The game can be seen live on ESPNU.
Smith spent a graduate season at Michigan where he helped the Wolverines reach the Elite Eight in the 2021 NCAA Tournament and win a Big Ten regular season title. He started all 28 games, averaging 9.0 points and led the Big 10 dishing out 5.4 assists per game.
The native of Burr Ridge, Illinois, completed his Columbia career fourth on the Lions' all-time scoring list with 1,653 points, second in assists (393), tied for fourth in steals (124) and third in free-throw percentage (.825). Additionally, Smith was a two-time All-Ivy League and All-Metropolitan recipient.
Smith becomes the third former Columbia student-athlete to participate in the NBA Summer League, joining Maodo Lo '16CC (Philadelphia 76ers – 2016) and Luke Petrasek '17CC (Charlotte Hornets – 2017).
