NEW YORK — Columbia Track & Field had six women post first place marks, while on the men's side
Patrick Passalacqua nearly set a school record in the shot put, posting a second-place finish as the men had seven finishes inside the top five at the TCNJ Lions Indoor Invite on Saturday night, in Columbia's first competition of 2022 and first at The Armory since 2020.
Â
Tiffany Bautista (triple jump),
Anna Jordahl-Henry (high jump) and the squad of
Fredericka Walker,
Sydney Goldson,
Kali Long and
Amara Onyeukwu (4x400m relay) all got wins for the Lions to highlight the day. Bautista launched herself 36-2.25/11.03m to take first in the triple jump, Jordahl-Henry cleared 5-5.25/1.66m in the high jump and the "A" squad finished the 4x400m relay in 3:56.54, just beating out TCNJ's "A" squad by less than a second.
Â
In the men's shot put, Passalacqua nearly broke a 68-year-old program record, posting a second-place toss of 53-9.75/16.40m, which puts him second all-time in program history behind only Al Thompson's 1954 mark of 16.64m and it's the best toss by a Lion since Jeff Oke hit 15.48m in 2007.
