The Lions play the second game of a doubleheader Wednesday at Levien Gym
NEW YORK - Columbia men's basketball wraps up non-conference play Wednesday, December 28, when it hosts Maryland-Eastern Shore (5-7) at 4 p.m. in the second game of a doubleheader in Levien Gymnasium. The Lions (5-7) will be in search of their fourth win in six games when they meet up with the Hawks.
OPENING TIP-OFF
• Wednesday marks the final non-conference matchup of the season before teh Lions begin Ivy League play Saturday at home against Yale.
• The Lions picked up their first road win of the season after knocking off Lafayette, 57-45, Dec. 12.
• Columbia has eclipsed last season's win total with its victory over the Leopards.
• The Lions have the last two Ivy League Rookie of the Week selections after Blair Thompson (Dec. 18) and Avery Brown (Dec. 12) took the honors.

MARYLAND-EASTERN SHORE'S STATUS
UMES earned an 86-78 road win at Temple on Dec. 20 leading into its trip to New York. Like the Lions, it was the Hawks first victory away from home and they are 1-7 on the road. Zion Styles leads a balanced scoring attack, averaging 11.1 points per game. Nathaniel Pollard Jr. paces the team in rebounding (7.4 RPG).
INSIDE THE SERIES
Columbia is 3-0 all-time against UMES with all three previous meetings taking place inside Levien Gymnasium. The Lions and Hawks last met on Jan. 6, 2016 - an 81-75 victory for Columbia.
COLUMBIA AGAINST THE MEAC
Columbia is 9-0 against teams currently in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference. Wednesday will mark the second MEAC opponent the Lions have faced after topping Delaware State, 70-65, in their home opener.
