Prior to Saturday's game, Columbia Athletics will celebrate the life of Gerald "Jerry" Sherwin '55CC with a memorial event at St. Paul's Chapel (on campus) on Saturday from 2-3:30 p.m. As so many know, Jerry was a longtime supporter of Columbia, Columbia College, and Columbia Athletics. Dubbed "Mr. Columbia" he was a mainstay at countless Columbia events, and you could still find him sitting with the team in Levien Gymnasium at each and every Men's Basketball game. He will be incredibly missed. There will be a short program and also a chance to share your memories of "Mr. Columbia." For more information and to register to attend this event, click here.

NEWS/NOTES

CORNELL'S STATUS
The Big Red are in the hunt for the fourth and final Ivy League Tournament spot. Cornell came away with a huge 71-65 victory over Yale last weekend to wrap up its home slate. Chris Manon leads a balanced scoring attack, posting 10.3 PPG.

INSIDE THE SERIES
The Lions hold a 131-104 mark against Cornell, dating back to 1902-03. On Feb. 9, the Big Red built a big lead in the first half on the strength of 10 3-pointers in the opening stanza. Columbia pulled within four, but Cornell held the Lions off the rest of the way as they earned an 88-75 win in Ithaca. The two schools each held serve at home in 2020.
