#27 Columbia Readies to Wrap Regular Season at #68 Cornell

Columbia and Cornell will face off at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday.
NEW YORK -- The #27 Columbia men's tennis team will travel to Ithaca for Saturday's 1:00 P.M. regular season finale at #68 Cornell. The Lions currently rank third in the Ivy League while the Big Red follow close behind in fourth.
Playing from the Lions' top position, sophomore Alex Kotzen ranks 20th in the nation, boasting a 26-10 record. Joining Kotzen in the rankings are doubles teammates Max Westphal and Theo Winegar. The duo ranks 49th nationally with a 12-6 record.
For Cornell, #45 Alafia Ayeni has paced the program. The 2018 Ivy League Rookie of the Year has collected 18 wins this season, notably defeeating Princeton's top player, Ryan Seggerman last week. Ayeni and doubles partner Vladislav Melnic jumped 15 ranks this week, going from 39 to 25, after toppling #31 Seggerman and Justin Barki last Friday.
The 2022 NCAA Men's Tennis Division I postseason selection process begins this Monday, May 2. The team selection show will begin at 6:00 P.M. EST on NCAA.com. Individual selections will be determined the following day, Tuesday, May 3.
