WORCESTER, Mass.—The No. 9 ranked Columbia Lightweights won the Second and Third Varsity 8 races and competed in the grand final in four events and the No. 17 ranked Columbia Heavyweight Varsity 8 took sixth place in the Petite Final on Sunday at the Intercollegiate Rowing Association EARC Eastern Rowing Championships, which are being held at Lake Quinsigamond in Worcester, Mass. on Sunday. The Columbia Lightweights won the Second Varsity 8 race with a 6:01.490 time, edging out Navy (6:01.725) by less than a second. The Third Varsity 8 won in a 6:07.021 time and defeated Cornell by two seconds. The Lion Lightweight Varsity eight advanced to the grand finial and took sixth place, while the Varsity Four took second place. The Lightweights raced against boats from Cornell, Dartmouth, Georgetown, Harvard, Navy, Penn, Princeton, and Yale.
 
The Columbia Heavyweights raced in two events on Sunday. The Varsity Eight advanced to the Petite Final. The Lions Heavyweights competed against teams from Boston U., Brown, Cornell, Dartmouth, Georgetown, Harvard, Holy Cross, Navy, Northeastern, Penn, Princeton, Syracuse, Wisconsin, and Yale.
