LWTs, HWTs Finish Day Two at IRA Championship

Lightweight Four boat places fourth in Grand Final; Four boats will race in Sunday’s finals events.
LAKE WINDSOR, N.J.—The Columbia Heavyweight and Lightweight Rowing teams concluded day two at the 119th annual Intercollegiate Rowing Association Championship Regatta on Saturday at Mercer Lake in West Windsor, N.J. Sunday's finals races begin promply at 8 a.m. ET.
On Sunday, Columbia's Lightweights will compete for the First Varsity 8 title at 10:30 a.m., while the Second Varsity 8 Lightweight boat will race for the grand final at 9:40 a.m. Columbia's two Heavyweight boats will race in Third Level events.
On Saturday, three boats competed in races. Columbia's Lightweight Four boat concluded its season as it took fourth place out of seven squads in the Grand Final following a 6:27.719 race. Columbia's two Heavyweight boats, the First Varsity 8 and Second Varsity 8, both placed high enough to advance to the Upper Finals in both of their competitions. The Second Varsity 8 won their race in 5:59.171, while the First Varsity 8 took third with a 5:56.211 time.
With those results, here is how Columbia's Sunday is scheduled. Four boats are scheduled to race on Sunday:
8:50 a.m., Second Varsity 8 Heavyweight Third Level Final
9:10 a.m., First Varsity 8 Heavyweight Third Level Final
9:40 a.m., Second Varsity 8 Lightweight Grand Final
10:30 a.m., First Varsity 8 Lightweight, Grand Final
