29 Heavyweight And Lightweight Rowers Earn IRA All-Academic Team Honors

Columbia lightweight rowing led the nation with 14 student-athletes named to the IRA All-Academic Team.
BOSTON — Twenty-nine Columbia lightweight and heavyweight rowers were named to the 2022 Intercollegiate Rowing Association All-Academic Team, with 15 heavyweight Lions and 14 lightweight Lions filling out the list announced by the IRA on June 29.
Columbia finished with the most lightweight All-Academic recipients in the nation and in all, 349 student-athletes from 26 member institutions were recognized.
To be eligible for recognition a student-athlete must have maintained a cumulative GPA of 3.35 or higher, completed one full year at their institution (freshmen and first-year transfers are not eligible), be an institutional letter winner and competed at the 2022 IRA National Championship Regatta.
