
Columbia Promotes Patrick Desir to Associate AD for Intercollegiate Sports Programs

Desir has been with the athletics program since 2006.
NEW YORK — Campbell Family Director of Intercollegiate Athletics and Physical Education Peter Pilling announced today that Patrick Desir has been promoted to the Associate Athletics Director for Intercollegiate Sports Programs. Desir most recently served as the Director of Athletic Facilities, Operations and Events.
Prior to his promotion, Desir managed and supervised the scheduling of athletic events at Baker Athletics Complex. Desir previously served as the Assistant Director of Facility Operations since October 2016, where he managed and supervised all athletic events and activities at Dodge Physical Fitness Center.
"Patrick has exhibited a tremendous work ethic throughout his tenure at Columbia," Pilling said. "We are confident in his experience and ability to support our sports programs and assist our administration going forward."
From 2011 to 2015, Patrick was the Director of Athletics Events, where he supervised football, basketball, baseball and soccer games. In that role, he served as the coordinator for all visiting teams, VIPs, and was responsible for budgeting and schedule management for all events.
He has also worked as Columbia Athletics' Assistant Director of Athletic Facilities (2007-11) and Ticket Operations Coordinator (2006-07). In addition, he also gained experience as a public relations intern at the National Football League for one year.
Desir earned a bachelor's degree in sports management from St. John's University in 2004 and went on to earn his master's degree in sports business from New York University in 2006. He also completed a study abroad program in sports studies at the University of Leicester in 2003.
A native of Brooklyn, New York, Desir continues to reside in Brooklyn with his wife Kassandra and daughters, Charlotte and Valentina.
