Kaitlyn Davis Named Ivy League Player of the Week

Triple-double catapults Davis to fifth career honor

PRINCETON, N.J. — Following her triple-double over the weekend, Columbia women's basketball senior Kaitlyn Davis has been named Ivy League Player of the Week. The league office announced its weekly selection Monday afternoon.

Davis notched the first triple-double in the history of the Columbia women's basketball program, which led the Lions to a, 79-50, victory over Dartmouth. The senior from Norwalk, Connecticut went for 19 points (8-10 FG), 12 rebounds and a career-high 10 assists, also adding four steals and a block to her stat line.

Davis' triple-double was the 21st in NCAA Div. I women's basketball this season and the fifth all-time by an Ivy League player. The last Ivy League triple-double against an NCAA Div. I opponent came in 2018 — Cornell's Ania McNicholas had one earlier this season against a non-Div. I opponent.

Following Saturday's effort, Davis now averages 12.7 points, 8.2 rebounds, 3.4 assists, 1.7 steals and 1.0 blocks on the season. She ranks top 10 in the Ivy League in all five categories, including No. 3 in rebounds and No. 4 in blocks. Davis is also the only player in the country to average at least as many points, rebounds, assists, steals and blocks as she does. The Ivy Player of the Week award is the fifth of Davis' career and her first of the season. She joins Abbey Hsu and Jaida Patrick as the three Lions to earn the honors this academic year. The trio has now combined for six, which is the most of any Ivy team this season.

Abbey Hsu was named to this week's Ivy League Honor Roll. Hsu matched Davis in scoring with a game-high 19 points. The 3-point specialist also went 5-for-8 from the outside, upping her NCAA-leading makes per game from long range to 3.65. Hsu also ranks 13th in the nation in 3-point percentage (.445) and averages and Ivy League-best 17.8 points per game.

Columbia (17-3, 6-1 Ivy) will defend first place in the Ivy League at home this weekend against second-place Penn (13-7, 5-2 Ivy) and Princeton (14-5, 5-2 Ivy). Friday night's opening tip against the Quakers is scheduled for 6 p.m. ET. Saturday's game against the Tigers will air on SportsNet New York (SNY) and tip at 4 p.m. ET.
