Women’s Squash Falls to No. 4 Stanford

Simmi Chan picked up an individual victory
PRINCETON, N.J. – The Columbia women's squash team fell to No. 4 Stanford, 8-1, in a neutral site match played at Princeton Saturday afternoon.
Reigning College Squash Association (CSA) Women's National Champion Simmi Chan secured the lone victory of the day for the Lions. Chan cruised to take an 11-5, 11-7, 11-3 win over Stanford's Si Ma in just 19 minutes. Chan is now 2-0 individually to start the season in the No. 1 spot of Columbia's lineup.
Sophomore Aleeza Khan played a tight match in the No. 3 spot of the lineup. Down two games to Stanford's Miriam Cheng, Khan battled back to win two straight, 11-9, 11-9 to force a fifth game. Cheng took the fifth game, 11-5 to clinch the victory.
The Lions are back in action Sunday when they host No. 22 St. Lawrence starting at Noon at SL Green Streetsquash in Harlem.
