Zheng’s Run at ITA National Fall Championships Ends

The sophomore advanced to the consolation quarterfinals

SAN DIEGO – Sophomore Michael Zheng fell in the consolation quarterfinals match to end his run at the ITA National Fall Championships.
 
Zheng got started in the main draw of the ITA National Fall Championships on Wednesday. He fell to Michigan's Gavin Young in a 5-7, 2-6 match to move over to the consolation bracket.
 
Zheng faced Denver's Daniel Sancho Arbizu in the first consolation match Thursday. Zheng cruised to take a 6-0, 3-6, 6-1 win. Zheng then met Mississippi State's Petar Jovanovic in the consolation quarterfinals. Jovanovic prevailed in three sets, 6-7(6), 6-4, 6-2 to end Zheng's run in the tournament.
