
Ashton Daniel, Nora Burke Earn Academic All-Ivy Honors

PRINCETON, N.J. – Following the completion of the Ivy League Championships last weekend, Ashton Daniel and Nora Burke were named to the Academic All-Ivy team.
Daniel finished in second place in men's foil as he went 9-2 at the Ivy League Championships. With the team score tied 13-13, Daniel battled through his last bout to clinch Columbia's win over Princeton to set up a championship match against Harvard.
The senior from Cupertino, California is majoring in computer science with a 3.65 GPA. Daniel was recognized as First Team All-Ivy League at the completion of the championships. In addition, Daniel was the 2022 individual NCAA Foil Champion and the 2022 individual Ivy League Foil Champion.
Burke was the individual Ivy League Sabre Champion as she dominated with a 16-1 record at the Ivy League Championships. She was an instrumental part in guiding the women's team to the championship match against Princeton.
The senior from New York, New York is majoring in Earth Institute with a 3.92 GPA. Burke was also recognized as First Team All-Ivy League. She has garnered First Team All-America honors in 2022 and Third Team All-America honors in 2019.
The two seniors will be competing in one more home match Wednesday for the George Kolombatovich Historical Meet. The path to the 2023 NCAA Championships will then begin in March at the NCAA Northeast Regional.
