NEW YORK– Columbia men's basketball alumnus Randy Brumant '21CC has signed his first professional contact with CSM Târgu Jiu in Romania.

Brumant played 64 games for the Lions over three seasons from 2017-20. The Houston, Texas native averaged 6.3 points per game and 5.2 rebounds per game his sophomore and junior years at Columbia. Brumant's senior season was canceled due to COVID-19.

"I'm thrilled to see Randy sign his first professional contract overseas," Lions head coach Jim Engles said. "We wish him all the best as he embarks on this next chapter of his career."

CSM Târgu Jiu plays in Liga Națională in Târgu Jiu, Romania. The club was formed in 2017 and in 2018 was promoted to Liga Națională, which is the top-tier professional basketball league of Romania.

Brumant joins eight other Columbia men's basketball alumni that are currently playing professionally. After he graduated from Columbia, Brumant spent his graduate season at Howard in 2021-22. He averaged 9.4 points per game in 29 starts for the Bison.
