Nation’s top 3-point shooter takes home seventh career honor
PRINCETON, N.J. — For the fourth time this season, Columbia women's basketball's Abbey Hsu has been named Ivy League Player of the Week. The weekly award winners were announced by the league office Monday afternoon.
Hsu had a career performance in Friday night's 75-70 victory at Harvard. The junior from Parkland, Florida scored a career-high 35 points, going 13-for-18 from the field and 6-of-10 from beyond the arc. Her 35 points are the most in a single game by an Ivy League player this season and tie for the fifth-most in a game in Columbia's record books. The performance marked Hsu's second 30-point game of the season — she netted a then-career-high 34 in a victory over UMass on Dec. 10.
A semifinalist for the Becky Hammon Mid-Major Player of the Year Award, presented by Her Hoop Stats, Hsu averaged 26.0 points on 60 percent shooting (20-33) to lead the Lions to a 2-0 Ivy League weekend. The sharpshooter was 45 percent (9-20) from 3-point range, climbing into sole possession of fourth in Ivy League history for career threes (263). In the process, Columbia clinched a third-consecutive berth into the Ivy League Tournament,
Hsu is the Ivy League's leading scorer and ranks top 50 in the NCAA at 18.2 points per game. More impressively, she leads the NCAA in 3-pointers made per game (3.60), ranks second in the country in total threes (90) and is top 25 in 3-point percentage (.417).
Kaitlyn Davis was named to this week's Ivy League Honor Roll. The senior from Norwalk, Connecticut averaged a double-double of 13.5 points and 10.0 rebounds over the weekend. She has been named to the Honor Roll a team-high seven times this season.
Columbia (21-4, 10-2 Ivy) hits the road for the final time in the regular season on Saturday when it travels to Brown (11-13, 4-8 Ivy). Tipoff from the Pizzitola Sports Center in Providence is set for 4 p.m. ET.

This is Hsu's seventh career Ivy League Player of the Week award and the seventh time a Columbia Lion has won it this season — Jaida Patrick (2) and Kaitlyn Davis (1) won the other three. Hsu's seven career honors are the third-most in program history behind Camille Zimmerman '18CC and Judie Lomax '10BC, each of whom had 10. Hsu's four awards this season also put her in the same company as Zimmerman and Lomax.
