No. 9 Columbia Begins Quest for Hoehn Cup Friday

Lions enter as top seed in draw
NEW YORK — No. 9 Columbia will compete for the Hoehn Cup this Friday-Sunday at the College Squash Association (CSA) Men's Team National Championships. The championships are being hosted by Trinity at the Kellner Squash Center in Hartford, Connecticut.
The Lions, who are the top seed in their division, take on No. 16 and eighth-seeded Franklin & Marshall on Friday in the quarterfinal round at 10 a.m. The winner will take on the victor between fifth-seeded Rochester and fourth-seeded Western Ontario in the semifinals on Saturday at 11 a.m. The Hoehn Cup Championship Match is scheduled for Sunday at 10 a.m.
Columbia posted a 4-8 record through the regular season with wins over No. 14 Williams College, No. 10 Dartmouth, No. 13 Rochester and No. 12 Western Ontario. All four of those teams are in the Hoehn Cup bracket. All eight of Columbia's losses came to the eight teams competing in the top division for the Potter Cup.
Leading the Lions through the season in the No. 1 matches has been Harold Castiaux. The junior from Belgium has gone 4-8 on the campaign, earning victories in the four matches in which Columbia came out victorious. Zach Nam posted the best win-loss record this year, going 7-5 in the No. 4 spot. Jacob Bulbulia went 6-6 from No. 7.
