NEW YORK – Columbia cruised to take the doubles point and didn't look back as the Lions captured four of the six singles matches to take a 5-2 win over Yale on Saturday afternoon at the Philip and Cheryl Milstein Family Tennis Center.

The duo of Roko Horvat and Alex Kotzen posted a quick 6-2 win over Michael Sun and Eric Li in the No. 3 doubles to get the afternoon started. Nicolas Kotzen and Max Westphal followed that with a 6-3 win against Theo Dean and Aidan Reilly in the No. 2 spot to secure the doubles point for Columbia.

Michael Zheng and Theo Winegar teamed up in the No. 1 doubles. The duo was leading Renaud Lefevre and Vignesh Gogineni, 5-4 as the match went unfinished due to the Lions clinching the doubles point.

Alex Kotzen secured the first singles win of the afternoon with a 6-1, 6-2 win over Luke Neal in the No. 5 singles. No. 28 Zheng then posted a 7-5, 6-0 win against Dean in the No. 1 spot. No. 108 Westphal clinched the Columbia win with a 6-2, 6-4 win over Gogineni in the No. 2 singles.

With the last few matches wrapping up, Yale's Sun earned a 6-4, 6-2 win over Hashimoto in the No. 3 singles. Ruger was victorious in the No. 6 singles with a 4-6, 6-2, [10-2] win in the No. 6 spot. The Bulldogs picked up their second win of the afternoon with Reilly's 6-4, 7-6 win over Horvat in the No. 4 singles.
