
Men’s Tennis Set for LSU Invitational

Columbia joins a field including LSU, San Diego, Tennessee, TCU and Tulane
BATON ROUGE, La. – The Columbia men's tennis team will join an elite group of teams competing at the LSU Invitational this weekend at the LSU Tennis Complex.
The Lions are part of a field that includes LSU, San Diego, Tennessee, TCU and Tulane. Four teams competing in Baton Rouge this weekend finished in the Top 20 of the final ITA Rankings at the end of the 2024 spring season. Columbia finished No. 8, TCU finished No. 1 after claiming the national title, Tennessee finished at No. 7 and San Diego took the No. 19 spot to end the season.
Live streaming and live scores can be accessed through the LSU Athletics website. Streaming can be found HERE and live scores can be tracked HERE. Play will begin at 10 a.m. on Friday and Saturday. Action will begin Sunday at 9 a.m. on the final day of the event.
Columbia will send the majority of its roster to Baton Rouge with Thanaphat Boosarawongse, Jordan Chang, Hugo Hashimoto, Andrew Kotzen, Nicolas Kotzen, Sachin Palta, Jayden Templeman, Max Westphal, Jung Hee You and Michael Zheng making the trip.
The Lions will use this weekend's event to prepare for the last few events of the fall schedule coming up. The next event on the calendar is the ITA Sectional Championships in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. If anyone from the Columbia team qualifies to play in the tournament, action will begin on Thursday, November 7.
Michael Zheng and Hugo Hashimoto have already punched their tickets to compete at the NCAA Championships in Waco, Texas starting November 19. Zheng and Hashimoto will both play in the singles bracket and team up to play doubles.
