BATON ROUGE, La. – The Columbia men's tennis team finished competition at the LSU Invitational on Sunday. The Lions were successful in competing in singles and doubles against players from LSU, San Diego, Tennessee, TCU and Tulane.
 
This weekend's event in Baton Rouge was one of the last of the fall season as Columbia prepares to send Michael Zheng and Hugo Hashimoto to the NCAA Individual Championships in Waco, Texas starting November 19. Zheng and Hashimoto will both play in the singles bracket and team up to play in the doubles bracket.
 
No. 2 Zheng posted a perfect 3-0 mark in singles action this weekend with wins over No. 10 Shunsuke Mitsui (Tennessee), No. 39 Lui Maxted (TCU) and Aleksi Lofman (LSU). The No. 21 duo of Zheng and Hashimoto picked up a doubles win on the first day of competition Friday.
 
The No. 12 ranked doubles pair of Nicolas Kotzen and Max Westphal picked up two wins this weekend. Kotzen also earned a singles win over Tennessee's Jose Garcia.
