Geronimo Rubio De La Rosa Named All-Ivy League Honorable Mention

The junior guard averaged 14.4 points per game this season
PRINCETON, N.J. — Columbia men's basketball junior guard Geronimo Rubio De La Rosa has been named All-Ivy League Honorable Mention, the conference announced on Wednesday afternoon. Junior forward Robbie Stankard is Columbia's Academic All-Ivy League selection.
Rubio De La Rosa played in 25 games and made 24 starts in 2023-24, averaging a team-best in points per game (14.4) for the second straight season and led Columbia in minutes per game (30.8), field goals made (116), three-pointers made (57), and steals (41). He finished the season ranked 15th in the country in fouls committed per 40 minutes (1.2), according to KenPom.
Rubio De La Rosa recorded his third career double-double this season (12 points, 12 rebounds) on Feb. 3 at Dartmouth. He had a team-high three 20-point games and also led the Lions with 20 double-figure scoring performances. Rubio De La Rosa was a 10-time Ivy League Weekly Honor Roll recipient.
On Feb. 23 vs. Brown, Rubio De La Rosa became the 30th Lion in program history to score 1,000 points and the 16th to do so in his first three seasons. Heading into his senior campaign, the Santiago, Dominican Republic native, is 21st on Columbia's all-time scoring list.
The recognition marks the first postseason award Rubio De La Rosa has garnered in his collegiate career. Rubio De La Rosa is the first Lion to receive All-Ivy recognition since Mike Smith '20CC was named to the Second Team in 2019-20.
Stankard was named Academic All-Ivy League after holding a 3.97 GPA and appearing in 10 games for the Lions this season. The Westwood, Massachusetts native is majoring in economics.
