Fellows’ Six-RBI Game Helps Power Baseball Past Brown, 15-4

Yoo tosses seven strong innings to earn fourth win

PROVIDENCE, R.I.Cole Fellows drove in a career-high six RBIs as Columbia baseball cruised to a 15-4 win over Brown in the series opener at Attanasio Family Field on Saturday afternoon.

Starter Derek Yoo picked up his fourth win of the year after throwing seven solid innings and allowing four runs to go along with five strikeouts. Yoo worked around eight hits and three walks.

Six Lions recorded multiple hits in the game while Fellows, Anton Lazits, and Cole Hage each drove in multiple runs. Columbia moves to 17-14 (10-3) while Brown falls to 8-22 (3-10).

Columbia jumped out to a quick 5-0 lead in the top of the first on six hits. Lazits cleared the bases with a double, followed by a Sam Miller RBI single and an Eric Jeon RBI double.

The Lions opened up a 10-0 advantage in the third inning with home runs from Fellows and Hage. All nine Columbia starters recorded a hit by the third inning.

Fellows drove his fourth and fifth runs in on the day with a two-run triple in the sixth inning that made it 12-2 Lions. The sophomore's sixth RBI came on a sacrifice fly in the eighth inning to give Columbia a 13-4 lead.

Columbia tacked on two more runs in the ninth on a Skye Selinsky RBI double and a Jack Kail RBI single. James Vaughn finished off the game with two scoreless innings.

The Lions and Bears close out the series on Sunday with a doubleheader starting at 11:30 a.m.
